In the third quarter of 2018, Vicem's clinker production reached over 5 million tons, up 0.1% over the same period; Accumulated 9 months of 2018 reached 15.1 million tons, up 5.1% over the same period. At the same time, cement production also reached over 5 million tons, up 12.5% over the same period; Accumulated 9 months of 2018 reached over 17.2 million tons, up 8.2% over the same period.
Also in the third quarter of 2018, total clinker and cement consumption reached over 7 million tons, up 20.1% over the same period; in particular, cement consumption including export output reached nearly 5.9 million tons, up 8.5% over the same period. Accumulated total product consumption in the first 9 months of 2018 reached 21.35 million tons, up 13.7% over the same period in 2017.
Growth in both output and revenue, Vicem has contributed to the growth of the construction industry in particular and economic growth in general based on the two main pillars of maximizing internal resources and taking advantage of production capacity. society. Not satisfied with the results achieved, Vicem continued to apply scientific and technological advances, combined with depth improvement, handling bottlenecks in the technological line to optimize production and improve equipment productivity, product quality improvement; clinker production exceeded the design capacity from 5 - 6%.
Currently Vicem is applying advanced management technology, striving to compete as major corporations in the region and in the world. At the same time, Vicem is implementing a plan to digitize cement plants; simultaneously installing an environmental monitoring system to ensure development.
